Ashley Jefferson joined Dowden, Worley, Jewell, & Olswing’s as an Associate Attorney in March 2021. The new Tennessee Bar admittee graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2018. During law school, Ashley was awarded the Judge L. Kirby Matherne Scholarship for her interest in business and transactional law; she was featured as a student discussant the College of Law’s annual Business Law Connecting the Threads CLE, and she was inducted as a member of the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court. Now, the Memphis native has made her way back to the Bluff City where she has immersed herself in the Memphis legal community.
Ashley most recently served as project manager for the Memphis Bar Foundation’s 901 Legal Connect, Under her leadership, the program became the City of Memphis’ and the State of Tennessee’s first access to justice initiative to develop an online legal aid intake application that prescreens low to modest means residents to determine eligibility for free to low-cost legal assistance. She also had the distinct honor and privilege to extern for and be mentored by the Honorable Judge Gina Higgins. Through these experiences, she cultivated a passion for business, probate & estate, and family law, and she is committed to dedicating her law practices to these bodies of law.
However, Ashley’s business acumen did not just begin in law school. This afternoon tea-taking/drinking, outgoing, creative mother of 11-year-old Jackson-Alexander the Great was a successful entrepreneur who owned her own company and helped other entrepreneurs grow their businesses as well. Ashley is skilled at both the practice and business of law. She brings a client-centered approach to her practice, which enables her to connect with clients and meet them where they are on any level. She has a fierce resolve and tenacity to help her clients meet their objectives and receive the justice that they deserve. Ashley is excited to begin her legal career in her hometown with Dowden, Worley, Jewell, and Olswing, and she looks forward to growing with the firm.
